Scientific research
The Corporate Public Hospital of Alessandria (AOAL) is a health hub where today care, research, lecturing and training co-exist, thanks to the coordination of its relations with the Local Health Authority of Alessandria (ASL AL) and the Eastern Piedmont University (UPO), which is expressed in the Department of Integrated Activities Research and Innovation (DAIRI).
The aim of these research activities is to improve patient care, in the awareness that 'he who researches, cures' by means of the following objectives:
- increasing research, especially on environmental pathologies
- promoting a systematic project approach that is consistently in line with the research and educational mission
- consolidating its role as a knowledge hub: foster excellence and constant growth in all its elements.
The research activity is coordinated by the Department of Integrated Research and Innovation Activities (DAIRI), to which the Piedmont Regional Government, with DGR 18 March 2022, no. 40-4801, assigned the role of regional research and clinical-organisational processes support center within the Regional Health Authorities (ASR). This activity is primarily aimed at supporting the Regional Government in the governance of research and innovation in the Regional Health Service (SSR), playing a supporting role, in order to ensure organisational continuity, standardisation and a correct functioning of these activities, especially through the promotion and the connection of research and innovation programmes of the Regional Health Authorities.
