Research Unit

Research, in the health sector, is useful both for acquiring new knowledge but above all for providing the patient with good quality assistance: patients included in a clinical study have the opportunity to receive innovative treatments otherwise unavailable, which in some cases they can represent a further chance of cure and are followed according to a strict protocol. The new corporate structure has provided for the establishment of multidisciplinary working groups oriented towards research, training and innovation, called Unit Diseases, which belong to the Integrated Activities Research Innovation Department. Defined on the basis of research lines and strategically important projects, they bring together professionals of different specialties, oriented towards the production of specific clinical and research outputs. They guarantee the consolidation and continuity of a history of excellence present in the Company according to a homogeneous path, adopting the Lean methodology to improve performance. They promote the development of organic projects that are consistent with the Company's research mission, through integration with the University. They represent a strategic tool to support a widespread and inclusive growth of the scientific activity of the Company and of the ASL AL, in relation to the process for recognition as IRCCS.
