A Unit established with the aim of promoting research on zoonosis, with a view to increasing knowledge on prevention, diagnosis and treatment, developing training and information programs on the control of antibiotic resistance (Antimicrobial Stewardship), which are essential to reduce the consumption of antibiotics and their inappropriate use, minimize toxicity related to antibiotic therapy, and reduce health care costs.
